Why aren’t more restaurants open on Thanksgiving?

new_thanks06.jpgIt’s about midnight and I’m totally stuffed with all Thanksgiving Food.  I don’t cook so I always have trouble finding places to eat on these holidays.  I’ve always wondered why more restaurants don’t open on Thanksgiving or Christmas.  Last Christmas, Macaroni Grill was the only place open near my house and it was packed.

I just had to write about the great dinner deal at Black Angus tonight!  Another non-cooking friend and I decided to go to there for dinner.  This was the only restaurant open in the area and there was a 30-45 minute wait at 5:30pm!

They had an all you can eat Thanksgiving special for $13.99!!  This full meal included bread, soup, turkey, stuffing, mash potatoes, gravy, green beans, sweet potatos, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie!  Did I mention it was all you can eat?  Of course, we stuffed ourselves silly and then asked for more!  When that last plate came we hardly touched it and asked for a doggy bag.  There’s nothing like more turkey and stuffing on the day after Thanksgiving!

In addition to all that food, we also each got a $5 gift certificate for our next meal there.  So this feast only ended costing us $8.99.  I don’t think anyone can beat that!
