[...] The tickets I bought this year were sold in early March. I have still been selling tickets for my friends who have followed my previous post Making Money online with MLB Cubs tickets. Unlike me, they did not elect to sell all their tickets right away. After running a few last minute auctions I’ve come up with a few more tips which I’ll definitely implement into my strategy for next year.
I've been pretty disappointed with eBay over the last couple years. They are no longer a good place to sell things. No one actually enters a maximum bid amount anymore - they just enter the minimum amount to make them the current high bidder. There are scads of computer programs that will wait until literally the last few seconds of an auction to place a bid, thus not giving other bidders a chance to raise their bids and therefore depriving the seller of a higher selling price. I work with a guy who is from Japan and returns there frequently. He says eBay in Japan works differently. If a bid is placed in the last minutes of an auction, the auction is automatically extended by 5 minutes to give other bidders a chance. eBay in the US needs to start doing that.
