We called around and dumpsters seem to cost more here than I'm used to. They had $70 drop off fee and $130 pick up fee and something like $50 a ton? Your dumpster costs seem high. We shopped around... 30 yard x 2 dumps for the initial site prep: just under $600 total, including the city's permit fee. Plus 3 guys two half-days to clean out junk ($12/hr + pizza = $350, via Craigslist). Through the course of the project, we've had to get some smaller dumpsters, too. The costs certainly add up. We're about 3.5 months and $60k into our fixer, but starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Holy cow! Your dumpster costs seem high.
