The waiting game
June 12th, 2006 by KenricWell now that I decided to rent instead of buying a house I’ll just have to wait as the days on market keep climbing.
However, my friend told me that he was able to get a new construction home from a builder at a greatly reduced price. Sometimes a builder will need to get rid of a house at month’s end (just like at car dealerships) and sell their remaining homes just to meet some sort of sales goal or quota. He was able to get a $300k house for $199k from the builder. He is a realtor so a part of that price reduction was due to his commission. In any case it’s still a great buy. He’s going to try to flip it once he closes on it. I’m thinking of calling a bunch of builder sales centers and seeing if I can get a great deal. I’ll probably do that in the last week of the month.
