So I’m searching on craigslist for homes in Scottsdale and I have run across so many of these stupid ads that I really don’t understand why the realtor’s bother.  These realtors that claim to have everything under the sun as a listing.  This is just one of the many many crap listings that are posted everyday.

Look at this guy, he’s got foreclosure specials and cheap homes in DC ranch.  Will someone actually bite and click his ad?  Maybe…

You click on the ad and its a bunch of crap links that go to his Coldwell Banker Realtor website.  First of all, does a normal person who really wants to buy a home actually think that these are legit links?  Would you hire a realtor with this ad?  Does anyone believe that there are 20 sites listed and click on 20 links?  I mean who clicks on that crap… besides me…  I just could not wait to view all the scottsdale foreclosures for free!!!!

So I click on the link and guess where it goes?  No, it doesn’t go to any listings.  No foreclosures, no home page, no sales page.  It goes to a page filled with alot of google adsense ads (blatantly violating Google’s terms of service by the way).  I mean this is where it gets really stupid.

Imagine that as a realtor you’ve suckered someone into coming to your site to view Scottsdale foreclosures.  They have fallen for your 20 links of great deals and then they see this page. You are telling them to click on one of the links below (another violation of Google’s TOS) which are filled with ads from other realtors!  Come to my site and then go directly to another realtor, I just want to be paid 25 cents by Google.

So for a mere $0.25-$0.50 of revenue, you’ve just sent a prospective client to some other realtor.   You’ve decided to give up a potential four figure commission to earn a 1/10th figure income. 

So, out of curiousity I decide to go view his listings.  He has a total of 2 listings.  Now that’s a shock!  The sad thing is I am looking for Scottsdale foreclosures and he’s never going to sell me a home.
