Same old same old with SFH#1

Guess what… the buyers want another extension! They insist that they want the house and intend to close. They asked for a 10 day extension but did not want to put up additional earnest money. I don’t know what to think. I’m going to give them a 2 day extension for free until Wednesday. Then after that, I want some more earnest or I’m cancelling the contract. Something is fishy, they asked for 4 days, and then they asked for 10 days, then when I asked for $2,000 they said they can probably close in 2 days. What the fuck? I don’t get it.

  2. Hmmmmm. It does sound rather odd, but not entirely unusual. I’d stick to my guns and give them no more than two days. If they REALLY want the house, they’ll concede. I’m thinking their financing trail is giving them fits (whether it be them or their lenders) or they plan to “flip” the property, and haven’t found a buyer yet. Either way, you could be losing money from other potential opportunities each day they hold out.
