Rich Dad Meeting Weekend

This weekend was the Rich Dad Get Together in Scottsdale, Arizona.  This is an event that was planned by members of the Rich Dad Community Forums.  This was the second time that this event was held.  Last year I had a rather short conversation with Robert Kiyosaki.  The event started off with a small cocktail party at Rich dad Headquarters on Thursday night.  This year I was able to have a nice five minute conversation with him.  Later on, he talked to us about having confidence in investing.

I always learn alot from these get togethers.  We had a very diverse group of people with greatly different backgrounds and investing philosophies.  Tom Wheelwright, founder and CEO of ProVision Wealth Strategies gave a 3 hour presentation on goals, strategies and taxes.  There were some amazing points that he made that I will focus on more this year.

What is amazing is that out of the 20 or so people attending, nobody made money the same way.  It really burns into your brain that money is an idea.  Just from a real estate perspective there were investors who’s presentation topics were:

• Buy & hold in residential properties
• Multi-unit apartments
• Creative financing
• Mobile home parks
• Buying distress mortgage notes
• Buying lots and building homes
• Buying an unbuildable lot and getting it buildable

I will make a few separate posts on some of the main points that were touched that were “eye-openers” to me during the course of the week.
