Ordered my first articles
November 7th, 2008 by KenricToday I hired someone to write me a bunch of blog posts. Don’t worry, they aren’t for this blog. They are for my ecommerce sites. I need to get content up in a hurry so I thought I’d try it out.
I placed one order for $30 which gives me 15 articles of 250 words each. I gave them a subject and keywords for each article.
I placed a second order for $30 which gives me 10 articles of 150 words but each article is posted on a separate blog. For these I gave them link text and URLs and a subject.
We’ll have to wait a week to see what the quality is like. $60 for 25 articles and 10 links is definitely saving me time.
Isn’t outsourcing great?

What do you mean by “gave them link text and URLs and a subject”? You mean you asked them to create sites with that link text? or to create a new page with that text on their sites?

Three cheers for out-sourcing!
Could you imagine doing this 10 years ago? The speed at which we can not only accomplish a task but hire someone to do it is simply amazing.

The 2nd package I ordered included not only articles but having them posted on blogs. So in that case I needed to let them know what keywords I wanted to use as anchor text and where to link it.

What service did you use to find your writer? eLance, guru, GAF, or even (gasp) craigslist? I’d be curious to know what you used and how your experience turns out. I’ve had a hard time finding a good source.

I used digitalpoint forums to find my writers. I’ve seen a few articles written for $4 and they aren’t that good. But $4 for a permanent link with anchor text to my store isn’t bad.
