On the waiting list for another new construction home

In my daily search for pre-construction I came across a nice subdivision. The houses are pricey here but I put my name on the waiting list anyway. I’m looking at a 2000 sf house for $285,000. The builder requires it to be the primary residence and you cannot rent it out or sell within a year. The waiting list is about 400 people and there are 90 lots left. I get my parents to put their name on the list too, they’ve been looking to move, so why not.
