Making money online – September 2007

October 8th, 2007 by Kenric

It’s time to post the monthly revenue numbers again.  After 3 months of declining revenue, I made $9 more in September than August.  Text Link Ads is a nice steady income provider.

As I mentioned last month, I’ll be using this money to re-invest into the blog or something else online.  I mentioned working on a few online sites a week ago and I’ll definitely need the $181 to put into one of the sites.  In fact its costing me $200 just to open up a merchant account with a payment gateway at my bank.  The good news is that almost everything has been free.  The hosting plan I had already, I paid $6 for the domain name, used open source e-commerce software, downloaded a free template and made my own logo and images.  I’ll post more about this once it gets up and running.  Can you really start a simple business for $206?

Here is the breakdown:

Adsense revenue from this blog: $75
Adsense revenue from other sites: $17
Revenue from Amazon sales: $0
Revenue from Text Link sales: $96

Total Revenue: $181

Google Adwords expenses: $2

Total Profit: $179

  4. Any suggestions on how to duplicate your success of $126 on your opening month? I am also very impressed with your shirts, what was the process for all of that? Feel free to email me @ charles_bennington@yahoo.com

  5. Hi Chuck, I already had decent traffic when I put ads on my site. I really didn’t know that it would make money, but I stuck adsense on my past posts and people were clicking them. The key is to have enough traffic and to have topics with will bring high dollar ads. I just happen to talk about real estate which seemed to have high pay per click amounts.

The T-shirts were pretty easy. I just made them on my computer with a graphics program and sent it to a t-shirt shop to make. Nothing fancy there.
