Making Money Online – October 2007

November 5th, 2007 by Kenric

October mark the month I officially started my first ecommerce retail business.  Up until then I was just making money through clicks and ads on websites.  My blog and my other little sites continued to do pretty well.

One thing I’ve learned is that websites have to marinate in search engines.  You put up a site and you’ll get no traffic for weeks or months.  But once it starts to get found in search engines you’ll start to get a few clicks a week, then a few a day.  Whenever I buy a URL, I just stick a very general information page up so at least there is something for a search engine robot to read.  It can be real crappy text, but it all helps once you’re ready to really work on that site.

The income of ads on this site are very erratic.  This blog generated $93 in adsense last month which tied its all time high.  I had a $14.00 day and then a $0.24 day and I have no way of telling which pages generated what revenue.  My granite counters and tile pages continue to get alot of hits a day.

Here is the breakdown:

Adsense revenue from this blog: $93
Adsense revenue from other sites: $15
Revenue from Text Link sales: $77

Total Revenue: $185

This month also makes it a full 12 months since I began putting ads on this site and dabbling in making money online.  Total revenue for year 1 is $1,841.
