Late Christmas Shoppers

TOLL FREE NUMBER + LATE SHOPPERS = LOTS OF SAT and SUN phone calls
I answered a few phone calls on Saturday morning, but then I decided to not answer anymore. After all, what can I do for them on a weekend. Many people seem to believe that you can ship out things on Saturday and it’s counted as a day. Ordering on Friday night is the same as ordering on Monday morning with UPS and Fedex.
Alot of people probably believe that my online stores are also retail stores so that there will be someone there manning the store on a Sunday.
I think one of the biggest disadvantages of my online stores is lack of faster shipping options online. I only offer ground shipping online because my products come from 3 different locations. Customers have to call me to ask about faster shipping. Therefore, I always ask the customer what they are ordering before I can quote a shipping price. And if they happen to choose items from different drop shippers I am screwed. If I ran a stocked store and shipped everything from home, my online sales would be alot easier. I can add all types of shipping, have real time inventory and really be in control. But I have to remember to stay focused. My goal is freedom and that means dropshipping. I guess I can lose a few sales over that.

The last few years, the USPS has been so accommodating, they will even deliver on Christmas Eve! Seriously! They want your business! And I’ll tell you, nothing warms your heart more than hearing from a customer that the mailman showed up on X-mas eve with the package they ordered from you. It really shows a commitment to service, not only from your store but from the Post Office too. It has all the makings of a Hollywood tearjerker with Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler.
One of the huge drawbacks to using dropshippers is that you don’t control the merchandise or the shipping. But that’s the price you pay for getting a four hour work week.

Learning to say “No” is oftentimes the most difficult thing to do with a paying customer.
