Ecommerce software options
February 27th, 2009 by KenricI found a decent ecommerce software package called Interspire Shopping Cart. I went through the demo and it is very good for $300 Starter edition. I don’t think the $995 or $1995 editions are worth the money for the extra features. Take a look if you are looking for a cheap decent cart solution.
My friend Chris at custom car stickers sent me an email today about another cart system that is free. It’s based on Joomla with a Virtuemart plugin. This system is pretty good also. It doesn’t have the one page simple checkout like the Interspire.
I feel that either of these systems are the cheapest way to begin an ecommerce store right now. If you just use paypal and Virtuemart, you can start your online store for free.

If I use these softwares, do I still need to hire web developers to program it?

Hi GSeries,
With these templates you do not need to hire a developer. However, if you want to change your store to a custom look and feel or add additional features you will need to hire a developer.
These software packages are pretty good out of the box.

Having a shopping cart software that is user-friendly and customizable is hard to find. I came across this software, it’s called Znode. It may be something worth taking a look at.

Wow, Znode is pretty expensive. If we look into that price range, there are many ecommerce options out there.
