Bad experience with www.bestbargainbook.com

September 7th, 2007 by Kenric

I’m so pissed off at bestbargainbook today.  I bought a book from them about 2 weeks ago from Ebay.  This book is for the class that I’m taking right now.  I have not received the book yet so I sent them a few emails.  I got this response this morning.

We apologize for the delay in communicating the information to you however we wanted to make sure there was no discrepancy between the inventory listed in our computer system and our physical stock.  We manually searched our stock room to be very sure that the item was not available.  Unfortunately the search proved unsuccessful and caused a delay in informing you that the item is in fact out of stock.  We are truly sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Thank You,

Diane

So basically, they were selling a book that they didn’t have.  It took them 2 weeks to let me know that they didn’t have the book and I had to bug them.  On top of that they didn’t even offer me a refund!

I go to their website www.bestbargainbook.com and search for my book and it shows up on their site as stock ready to be sold.  Apparently, bestbargainbook.com sells books that they don’t have, then they scramble around looking for it to fill your order.  Obviously, I’m never going to order from them again, but if you’re even thinking about ordering from them I’d take a look at their negative feedback on Ebay.  While they do alot of volume, their amount of negatives and the actualy complaints seem to corellate to not having certain books in stock at the time of sale.

  2. I bought from them as well, off amazon, and it took a month and a half to send me the book. Its funny, but they put some quirky legalese in their policy like “Expect response within 14 business days.” and then they had a “Delivery in 14 business days from confirmation.”

Essentially, its a total of six weeks I had to wait for the book, because the response they talked about was actually the response they had gotten my order.

Not sure how they stay in business, because I wont buy from them again either. Without repeat customers, how do you keep your revenues growing?
