Credit Card Roulette and Vegas

It’s the 2010 WSOP in Vegas and every year I head down to Vegas to visit my friends over at Poker Static and Bluefire Poker.

Whenever we go to Vegas, we play credit card roulette.  For those who haven’t played before, you basically put everyone’s credit card into a pile and through some sort of random elimination, you eliminate all the credit cards except one.  The person who owns the last credit card pays for the entire bill.  If you order the most food, this bet is always a good bet to take.

Unfortunately for me I went 5 for 5 in losing credit card roulette.  Every single meal that we had, I paid for.  Losing wouldn’t have been that bad if it wasn’t for the one meal we had at an insanely overpriced restaurant where my friend got 3 tacos that were about 3 inches long for $42.   I hope they had gold in them cause I’m still scratching my head on that one.

What are the chances of this happening, about 0.1%.  This meant that I was very very unlucky.  But what odds were considered unlucky at the dining table translated to good luck at the gaming tables.  What are the odds of getting 3 hard eights in a row???  Unfortunately, I don’t play the hard eights, but I made the guys who did very happy.

Overall, it was a great relaxing time that recharges me for “work” again.  I also want to say Hi to Maren who we met in Vegas.  Maren has a blog called Escaping the 9 to 5.

And you know what they say, it’s not the destination, but the journey.  And that couldn’t be more true when road tripping with a 600hp beast.
