Completed my pre-closing inspection of SFH#2

April 15th, 2006 by Kenric

Friday morning I had my pre-closing inspection walk-through of SFH#2. I must say that I was very impressed with the construction quality of this house as compared to SFH#1. SFH#2 is constructed by Pulte.

The biggest issue during my walk-through was that the carpet in the master bedroom and its closet was wrong. They put in a standard gray carpet there when I had upgraded it. My sliding glass door needed to be replaced as it had black marks on the inside panes, so there was no way to rub it off. Then there were two light fixtures that needed some work, one was not quite centered above the mirror and the other wasn’t even installed. There was also a coax/cat5 outlet combo about chest high in the hallway. Nobody could figure out why that was there as it wasn’t in any of the drawings. I guess I can put a plasma tv in the hallway wall now.

They should have all the issues completed by next Friday hopefully. I’m leaving for Hawaii on Tuesday so I am signing the closing papers on Monday. They told me to bring a cashier’s check, not an official check to closing. However, my bank, Chase only has official checks and they assured me that it is the same as a cashier’s check. I guess we’ll find out on Monday.
