Cardinals are in the SuperBowl

January 19th, 2009 by Kenric

Aside from dropping a fly ball in the bottom of the last inning with the bases loaded and 2 outs, my weekend was pretty good.  I went hiking 3 times last week, got a nice tan.  It’s weather like this that makes me endure the 110+ degree temperatures in the summer.  When the rest of the nation is below zero, we have sunny and 80 degrees.

My friend was able to get tickets to the NFC Championship game yesterday.  He must have chose “Worst Available” instead of “Best Available” when he bought them from Ticketmaster because our seats were in the last row of the stadium.  The good thing is that we can stand on our chairs and lean back on the chain link fence behind us.

The new stadium is great, there is not a bad seat in the house.  No columns or overhangs anywhere and even the highest seat is not that high.  So it was an exciting day to see the Cards make it to the SuperBowl.  The people here in Arizona could not believe it.  They are probably still in shock.  I’m not a Cards fan, although I do want them to win the Superbowl, but being a Cubs fan I can understand how they must feel waiting for a team to finally make it.  They’ve only had to wait 21 years.

I just wish I could feel that way with the Cubs one day.
