Update on SFH#1
July 11th, 2006 by KenricI got word today that the buyer had to go out of town to Texas for an emergency and cannot sign. Now… what are the odds that two consecutive potential buyers for the same house, both had to leave town on the day of closing and both had to go to Texas on an emergency? I mean, is there a conspiracy to keep my house under contract and keep giving me earnest money? I sent the buyer’s agent an email explaining to him my situation and my reasons for cancelling the contract tomorrow. We’ll see if I get a response or not.

That is freaky. You are lucky that it seems fairly easy to get the earnest money where you live! It wasn’t the same Realtor bringing the buyers both times was it? Good luck to you!

I have a feeling that this earnest money will be harder to get. They still have to release it, even though it says it’s non-refundable on the contract.
I haven’t heard anything from them today yet.
