Turning $1 into $1,000: A Poker Goal - update #7

July 16th, 2007 by Kenric

It’s been a while since I’ve made a poker update.  That’s because I haven’t played that much in the past 3 weeks.  On June 25th I played 20,000 hands.  Today is July 16th and I’ve played only 7,000 hands since.  So I’ve been playing here and there and not really concentrating to much.  My results definitely show that.  I had $320 on my last update and I’m at $364 right now.  I’m having alot of trouble breaking the $400 mark.

This hand tilted me today:

SB ($14.15)
BB ($5)
UTG ($31.05)
MP ($21.75)
Kenric ($33.10)

Preflop: Kenric is Button with 7s, 7d.
1 fold, MP raises to $1, Kenric calls $1, 2 folds.

Flop: ($2.35) 9d, Td, Th (2 players)
MP bets $17.25, Kenric makes a sick read and raises to $32.10, MP calls $3.50 (All-In).

Turn: ($43.85) Jc (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: ($43.85) Qc (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $43.85

Results below:
MP has Kc Qd (straight, king high).
Kenric has 7s 7d (two pair, tens and sevens).
Outcome: MP wins $43.85.
