Tucson fixer upper day #60
April 10th, 2007 by KenricIt does clearly state that any existing meter can be located under a carport. However, if an electrical upgrade permit is pulled for the property, the meter location cannot remain there and must be moved.
How did I miss that? Easy, I just assumed the location was ok since it had been there. Our electrician did not know about this requirement either. He felt responsible for not checking with TEP prior to the work that we did so he’s charging us for parts only for the meter move which won’t be alot at all. The biggest thing is the time that we’ve lost.
I’m heading down to the house today to do some handyman work. I’m going to finish up the house little stuff instead of paying a handyman. However, I don’t know how to make stucco let alone patch holes with it so I’m going to get some bids while I’m down there. We’ve got to get this finished and sold!

I wonder what the big deal is about having it under a carport??? I’m glad your electrician decided to do the right thing by you.

Bill, this blog doesn’t save unfinished comments. Not sure where it went. The fixer was sold!
