Making Money Online - November 2007
December 3rd, 2007 by KenricIt’s that time of the month again. Time to break down this making money machine!! We all know that this blog isn’t about making money itself. I’m sure some of you have noticed that I don’t put embedded adsense ads in every post anymore. I’m getting lazy. But it’s still nice to have some decent play money come in from this blog.
Adsense revenue for this month is virtually identical to last month. Since my blog got bitch slapped from a PR4 down to a PR0 it makes my text links less valuable. I lost a bunch of side wide links but gained a couple post level ones. That makes up for the difference in income this month.
Here is the breakdown:
Adsense revenue from this blog: $92
Adsense revenue from other sites: $22
Revenue from Text Link sales: $63
UPDATED: Added Ebiz 1 sales $610
Total Revenue: $787

The numbers for my ebiz are officially in. They are much better than I would have expected. I wasn’t even thinking of the Christmas rush when I decided to start this biz but I’m glad I had it up and running for a little while before the mad rush came in.
I can tell you one thing for sure. It’s definitely taking more time than I thought. I’ve had to field 4 calls on Saturday and 2 calls on Sunday. Normally I don’t think of weekends as work days, but I am running a store and stores are open on weekends. People calling don’t know you don’t have a store.
The store from Nov. 1st to Nov. 30th had 28 sales resulting in $3,700 gross receipts. Profit after fees and advertising were $610. My goal of this store was to have 1 sale a day at $180 with a profit per sale of $40. After one month, here is where I stand.
- Goal: Actual:
- 1 sale/day 0.93 sales/day
- $180/sale $132/sale
- $40 profit/sale $22 profit/sale
My first impression is that it will be tough for me to get to my $180/sale goal. I do not have a single product that costs over $160. Therefore, I am relying on each customer to purchase multiple products. In addition, I offer free shipping on orders over $175 so as soon as an order reaches $175, I am giving away $13 in shipping.
I believe that I can achieve the 1 sale a day and the $40 profit per sale. I have begun to raise my prices. I guess retailers do that during Christmas. I had one product that I sold 3 at $80.95, 3 at $82.95 and 2 at $85.95. I wonder if I have room to move it up to $89.95.
UPDATED: Added Ebiz 1 numbers to the chart and totals.

The numbers are looking nice so far. I made five dollars once with adsense, but that’s it.

Any reason you’re relying on AdSense? Could you make more money with some private ads?

This blog doesn’t have enough traffic for private ads. So far, adsense is doing fine for the amount of visitors I have.
