Making money online - July 2007

August 6th, 2007 by Kenric

Time for my monthly making money online post.  Revenue is coming down.  Traffic to the site has dropped a little.  But considering that I’ve removed my top adsense banner, it’s not too bad.  I’ll probably be putting the Adsense banner back up next week.

Revenue on my other sites jumped up this month.  The Kiyosaki and Trump book became real popular again for some reason and my Optima condo renting site generated alot of clicks.

Amazon sales got a small boost from the Harry Potter book (I sold 2 LOL).

Text links just keeps chugging along.  I quit doing payperpost.

Kontera makes about $0.50 a day but I stopped using it because it makes the site load slow.  I’m like 50/50 on putting it back on.  On one hand, it only makes $15 a month.  But then $15.00 is $15.00, why should I give it up?  It’s a good lunch!

Here is the breakdown:

  • Adsense revenue from this blog: $69
  • Adsense revenue from other sites: $54
  • Revenue from Amazon sales: $2
  • Revenue from Text Link sales: $51
  • Revenue from Payperpost: $5
  • Revenue from Kontera: $3

Total Revenue: $184

  • Google Adwords expenses: $3

Total Profit: $181

  2. I think the Kontera ads scare away readers. I haven’t tried them personally, but when I come across sites with them, I usually think twice before deciding to return. It’s just that it interfers with me reading the content. As a user, I find those ads helpful to me a full zero percent of the time.

$15 is nice, but you may have to factor if it causes you to lose readership.
