Just a general update on life

They found a title issue with one of my lots in St. George.  I don’t have too many details on it, but it appears to be an easement issue with the ingress egress dating from the 1980’s.  Hopefully that will get taken care of and it will still close this year.

I’ve made an offer on a fixer upper home in Scottsdale.  The house needs alot of work to bring it into this century, but it’s still livable as is.  I plan to fix it up and move into it.  My offer is pretty low compared to the asking price but the listing agent said it was in the ballpark since I thought the asking price was way too high.  I’ll post more details if this goes anywhere.

Still working part time at my job.  But it really feels like full time cause I do some work everyday.  The good thing is that I don’t have to go into work early.  It’s nice cause I make it into work around noon everyday.  At least I get to hit the gym in the morning.

Speaking of gyms, I’m thinking of getting a personal trainer.  I can’t motivate myself to work out hard anymore, I feel like I’m going through the motions.  At LA Fitness they charge $140 to sign up and $40 per half hour session!  So if I wanted to try one session it would cost $180!  Went to my first Kundalini yoga class today.  It was sort of weird, can’t say if I’ll be going back.

Finally, I think after 2 months I feel like I’ve turned a corner in poker.  For the past two weeks I’ve been playing very consistent using a tighter style of play.  I’m at pretty low limits now so the actual money won isn’t lot.  I can definitely feel that I’m better.

  4. Very nice site. I love reading about your real estate and life experiences. I def. hear you on not be motivated enough to work out. The only thing i’m involved in is dodgeball (too much fun)and a pick-up game of hockey here and there. Would you perhaps be interested in a link exchange? Best wishes to you and your site and happy holidays!

If you are incorporated(LLC, etc..), have you thought about setting up a SEP-IRA? It works just like a 401K (deductible off your taxable income). The limit is much higher for self employed businesses.

  6. Cool site you have here. I was surpsised to see you play poker. I have played professionally on the internet the past four years and am now getting into RE. Good luck, and if you ever want to talk strategy on poker, I love talking about it.
