Granite countertops and kitchen tile backsplashes #4

May 17th, 2007 by Kenric

I visited a few model homes today to see what type of incentives were offered by builders.  During the process I snapped a bunch of pictures of the homes, adding to my picture collection.  Here are some more granite countertop and kitchen backsplash tile combinations.

Here is a classic diamond pattern that seems to be real popular now.

Here is a 6″x6″ diagonal pattern

These pictures show matching hoods to go with the tile backsplash.

  2. OK, I’ll bite. Where were these models? They look pretty upscale to me.

In your recent travels, have you seen any specs with sufficient incentives to make you think about buying? I haven’t seen anything yet in an area that would attract tenants and even remotely come close to cash flowing. I picked up a heavily discounted builder year-end spec closeout in Goodyear last September that I resold, but nothing else has shown up that makes any sense.

  3. Another Investor,

The top two were in Palm Valley in Litchfield Park. I can’t remember the builder, I had never heard of them before. I just happen to drive by and go inside. They were offering about $90k off their list price on a $600k home. They had alot of completed homes sitting around.

The remaining models were in a new Camelot Home subdivision right next to the Lifetime Fitness. Camelot had $40k in free upgrades. IMO, Camelot subdivision was more than 100 times better than the other. I really like they subdivisions that Camelot builds. They really feel custom. These are probably the cheapest Camelot Homes you’ll find at $420k starting.

No, I don’t see anything worth buying at all as an investment. However, as a primary res. I’ve seen some decent ones.
