Cliffside hiking

The email I received with these pictures say that this is the way to a remote restaurant in China.  However, I could not find any more information about these pictures.  Looking at the above picture you would think that people would be crazy to even set foot on this type of trail.  Surely, you would need a harness of some sort.  Those short staples holding the 2×4s together don’t exude confidence in the construction either.

Look, people actually are on the trail.  And they don’t have any safety harnesses!

At least they have chains on the outside of the trail near the top.

Edit: I have found that this is the Mt. Huashan Hiking Trail.  Here is some interesting reading.

Short youtube video (looks like they put in a cable for harnesses)

  5. Looking at that picture reminded me a poem by great Chinese Poet Li Bai, but at the same time I’ve to look away from it since it could make me throw up. :-( Like what Tom said, you could never put me up there even the prize is million bucks.
