Back from the trip
April 21st, 2008 by KenricIt’s been a long and tiring weekend. Just wanted to post a few pictures before I get to sleep on a nice bed.
Below is Havasu Falls. I don’t think that you can take a bad picture here.

This is one of the hundreds of small pools that you can swim in all day.

Not a bad way to spend a weekend.

Camping was great, although a nice shower and bed at the end of each day would have been good.
The restrooms was another story. Probably the worse I’ve ever seen at a campsite. I won’t go into details but it takes alot to gross me out and it was gross.

Great pics! I am going camping for about a week in North Conway, NH. It is beautiful up there but not as great as where you went. The water is so clear!

I am going to be stopping off at the Grand Canyon in June on my way to Tucson from Las Vegas. I will have to make sure I stop at Havasu Falls.

Just as an FYI, Havasu Falls is not an easy place to get to. It’s definitely at least a two day trip.
Driving to the trailhead is about 4 hours from Vegas. Once you get to the trailhead you can hike 10 miles to get to the falls or take a helicopter there. If you hike, you’ll have to stay overnight. You can copter in and out in one day if you’d like for about $170 each.

Wow! This is gorgeous. I’m sure glad it’s hard to get to, that should reduce the possibilities of it being destroyed.
How did the mule/horse work out? How far of a drive from Phoenix to the trailhead?

It’s about a 4.5 hour drive from Phoenix. The horse worked out great. It was $200 roundtrip and can carry up to 4 bags up to 130 lbs. We split it 4 ways.
