Blog Life
February 15th, 2008 by Kenric
I was thinking of getting this Tupac tattoo. ;) Cause you know that blogging from the streets of Compton is tough. Sitting in the coffee house, constantly looking out the window for those drive by bloggers. You may have noticed that my blogroll diminished to just a few blogs. It’s always sad to see a blog that you’ve been reading for years suddenly end. It’s like reading a story just stops abruptly. Blogs seem to come and go these days. Many real estate blogs just stopped updating during these tough times.
Blogging does take time out of your day. It probably takes me an average of 30 minutes to write a post. I have a different outlook on this blog. This blog will be here forever. I do wonder how the online world will look in 2050. Will looking at computer screens go the way of the cassette player? I’m sure most of you have noticed that as time went by, this blog went from being mainly real estate focused to almost a general blog about my life. If I kept it strictly focused on real estate, I would not have enough content to keep updating it almost daily. It probably would have faded a long time ago. I still try to keep it about making money and investing, but other thoughts always creep in.
This blog is like a personal journal for me and I feel that in 10, 20, 30 years when I re-read my posts, I can remember what I did during each day of each year. I don’t blog for money or to gain a huge readership. I blog to keep friends updated on what I’m doing, to create a daily journal, to review my thoughts and mindset during certain times but I blog because I just like writing posts about what I’m thinking and what comes to mind.

I hear you. REI is about a lot of “hurry up and wait”, even when it’s in an upswing. Right now, there’s just not much blog fodder to speak of where real estate is concerned. I’ve enjoyed your recent posts and the variety therein. You’re doing great! Keep it coming….
