Another scare
June 23rd, 2006 by KenricSometimes you just become paranoid after something like this happens. I went to log into a credit card account to change my password and I had to type in a bunch of information to confirm I was me. Of course I kept getting errors so I called the credit card company. The guy says the reason you’re getting errors is because you’re expiration date is wrong. I say “no it’s not” I have the card right here.
He says “you got a new card so you have to use that expiration date”.
“I don’t have a new card!”
“Yes, a replacement card was sent out last week.”
Oh shit. “Please cancel that card because I didn’t request any new cards.”
“Oh no, the card was sent out by the credit card company to replace your old card.”
“Are you sure the request was from the card company?”
“Yes.”
“What address was it sent to and has it been activated.”
He tells me the correct address and says “No, it hasn’t been activated yet.”
Whew.
