Turning $1 into $1,000: A Poker Goal - update #3

June 8th, 2007 by Kenric

On my last update I started going sideways.  The $100 target was met with alot of resistance.  As you can see from the graph, I came close several times to breaking it.  I finally broke through around 9,900 hands.  I’m stilling playing $0.02/0.05 levels because every time I went up to $0.05/$0.10 I just go sideways. I guess I’m not ready for that level yet. I feel like I went from peewee league poker to the high school league and I’m stuck there trying to break into the community college level.

I guess I’m doing alright, averaging $0.01 per hand, but it’s some pretty slow going.  What I love about poker is how people berate you and talk trash.  Everyone thinks that they’re the best player and they always get steamed when your 56 cracks their Aces.  Here’s a conversation from a few days ago:

  • Villian: You ****** suck, donkey, hope u ******* and die
  • Me: LOL, ha ha
  • Villian: You knew I had aces and you still called with 56
  • Me: Yea ok, I did, that’s why i called
  • Villian: idiot
  • Me: LOL you knew i knew you had aces and you still stacked off
  • Villian: **** you ********
  • Me: you should reload
