This is how they make money on poker tables. As an example, if there are 3 people in the hand and the pot is $100. Let's say the casino takes 3% rake. That means that the casino would take $3 from that pot. Since there are 3 people in the hand, each player contributed $1 to the rake. Online poker sites give you some of that rake back, hence "rakeback" as an incentive for you to play at the site. Since I get 33% rakeback at Cake, I would get $0.33 back for playing in this hand.
